It’s the first thing I install on a new Mac, and it’s often called the package manager that macos should’ve had. Homebrew - If you’re here and you don’t have homebrew, boy are you in for a treat. From here we can gain access to the wonderful world of open source software packages! We don’t always need to reinvent the wheel! We can introduce sketchy code other people have written into our beautiful applications! We can download huge packages to do simple things! I have, you have, too. The Node Package Manager is exactly that. Why is that cool? Because that means we can use JS well … outside of the browser. ![]() ![]() The idea behind Node is it provides a javascript runtime environment outside of the browser. ![]()
